Scarf

The Camp St. Andrews Scarf program is modeled after the YMCA and Salvation Army Ragger programs. The Scarf program provides a series of personal challenges that offer an opportunity for personal and spiritual growth. For campers and staff alike, each color represents a new challenge taken on in their lives. Scarves are not given to a camper, instead a camper accepts a scarf and its challenge on their own. Those who have accepted a challenge and received a scarf at another camp may continue onto higher challenges with Camp St. Andrews. Every person in camp should be able to receive a scarf while at camp if they wish to accept the challenge.

The elements of the scarf symbol represent several things:

The circle represents God's embrace, which is never ending. The four sides of the square represents the four parts of a well balanced life: a healthy body, a clean mind, a good relationship with others, and a close relationship with God. The triangle is the strongest geometric figure, and its three sides represents the Holy Trinity of the Father, Son, & Holy Spirit.  The shield was added by the Salvation army and represents the protection of the weak. The cross lies at the center of the scarf symbol, as Christ should be at the center of our lives.
