If they wish, our Senior Boys and Girls Units, as well as our Program Assistants, can take a little hike (guided by resident staff members of Camp Jack Hazard) out into the beautiful wilderness surrounding the facility. Once there, they get a small taste of "roughing it" in the wilderness. They camp out on the ground, there are no "facilities", and they must pack-in all the food, water, and supplies they need. While many are not sure what they have gotten themselves into when the journey begins, they all seem to come back talking about what a great experience they had while out there.
